New paper: The neural basis of external responsiveness in prolonged disorders of consciousness
Check out our new paper in Neuroimage: Clinical. We show that damage to the fibres connecting the thalamus and M1 contributes to the lack of external responses that characterises severely-injured patients with a disorder of consciousness. This suggests that behavioural assessments may underestimate the level of preserved cognitive function and awareness across both vegetative and minimally conscious patients Access the paper here: https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article
